TIEV is short for Talleres de Impresión de Estampillas y Valores, or Stamps and Securities Printing Workshops in English. TIEV is the Mexican counterpart to the Bureau of Engraving & Printing in the U.S. Relatively few TIEV cards were issued for philatelic shows and most were an unusual folded format, perhaps to fit in a #10 envelope. The last two cards, issued at Pacific 97, were also folded but smaller, and featured intaglio reprints of Mexican stamps.
